Thursday, 9/26 - Parlay House DC: Inner Canvas: Exploring Self-Care through Artistic Expression With Lauren Cook

Thursday, September 26th, 6:30-8:30pm

Have you ever wondered why so many people embraced art and creativity during the pandemic? Whether it was for personal expression, a distraction, or both... research now shows that engaging in artmaking—broadly defined—can be a powerful form of self-care.  It can help us think more clearly, soothe our nervous system, and even rewire our brain’s physical response to stress.

Join us and our talented speaker Lauren Cook, as she leads fun and relaxed interactive exercises designed to show how simple acts of artistic creation can be vital for self-discovery, enhancing mind-body connections, and fortifying ongoing self-care. No prior art-making experience is necessary – this is for everyone!

This event will take place in the Dupont Circle neighborhood; specific address will be emailed to you upon registration. Don't worry - there's lots of street parking available! Food and drinks will be served, so no need to eat before you come.

Important Reminders:

  • Parlay House events are open to all who identify as women. All others are welcome to join our digital series, Parlay From Away and tune into our podcast, Bring A Friend.
  • You will receive an email with the specific address for this event as an email and a calendar invite following your ticket purchase.

Already grinning,

Anne & Arielle
