Saturday, 10/19 - Parlay House Miami: Seeing Differently - A Photo Walk Through Miami's Art Deco District

Do you enjoy mindful walks or taking photos? Are you curious about local architecture? There’s beauty all around us in Miami, especially in the historic art deco district… let’s absorb it and appreciate it together!

At this exciting upcoming event, photographer and graphic designer Laura Paresky Gould (IG @miamicolortheory) will lead us on an interactive photo walk inspired by her minimalist, color-focused iPhone images from her photo essay book and popular Instagram, "Miami Color Theory.” Laura will teach us about the history of Miami's stunning deco architecture, how to capture a moment in time with a photograph, and the art of "seeing differently.” She will also share specific tips on shooting picture perfect images using an iPhone.

The one-mile walking tour will wind through South Beach and conclude at the Royal Palm Hotel 1545 Collins Ave. at 15th st. Please meet the group in front of the Avalon Hotel on 7th st. and Ocean Drive, and bring your smartphone or a real camera! Afterward, you’re welcome to join us for a group lunch. (Attendees will need to cover the cost of their own lunches.) Note that this event is contingent on good weather.
